Great places, near and far, inexpensive and awesome! Featuring local eats, fun and frolic, this series will tell you where to go and who to know. In Deerfield our first stop was the Whales Rib for some fabulous famous fish dip and ruby red rock shrimp. It was incredible. The Pier stretches out far into the ocean where the view and the fishing is spectacular. The waves were good and surfing was even and option that day we visited. Music played live from every corner of the S curve where it all happens. The Wyndham Hotel Patio bar was a great hub near the pier for good food and great live music every night. It looks out over the beach and drinks are strong. Sunrise at the pier 6:55 am is a must see when the clouds turn pink and the birds start to fly. Breakfast at the Wyndham for the Eggs Benedict after the sun comes up. You can walk anywhere you need to go. Apple Fritters from the 711 are my weakness and a good choice for late night delivery snacks at 1am. Lay our and watch Volleyball or hike to a private part of the beach surrounded by rocks and pigeons. JB’s is around the corner for lunch and some awesome fish tacos and conch fritters. We stayed at the Buccaneer where Charisse stayed as a child. It was available on Airbnb and it was a treat to meet the owner Dan. The pool was crystal clear a parking was included. The suite was very nice, it had a kitchen, king size bed and a fold out couch. This was our first for us on Airbnb and a wonderful experience. Charisse’s sister Veronica came to visit with Scott and we met up with the Troy her cousin from Stuart, Florida. Hollywood, Florida is close for the Jimmy Buffett Magaritaville experience and the best sea bass I have ever had! Ft. Lauderdale is home to the BEST TIKI BAR IN THE WORLD. My family has been going there for 50 years and we celebrated our Anniversary with me dancing on stage with the HULA Girls! On the Ft. Lauderdale strip visit Primanti Brother Pizza near Sunrise…unbelievable and open 24 hours. While in Lauderdale we witness a boat accident hit and run. Veronica, Scott, Charisse and I were able to sum up some good mojo and found the boat called, “Can’t Wait” that fled the scene. The police were very impressed with our detective skills. For the best mussels visit Ocean 234 in Deerfield for Happy Hour, the Lobster roll in a revelation. The bar tender was from Tennessee, we loved her pours and sense of humor. The service everywhere was first class. We loved Deerfield Beach, Florida and recommend it very highly with five stars! We will be back again. Both the hospitality and kindness was deeply appreciated. Thanks for watching, tune in next Tuesday for another adventure on Travel Tips Tuesday only on “Bill from the Ville” Tele-Vision.
